An architect (Evangeline Lilly), struggling with the after-effects of her OxyContin addiction, finds out the truth about her son’s involvement in narcotics trafficking. And a university professor (Gary Oldman) discovers unexpected information about his research assistant and about the pharmaceutical company he works for.
In the course of the film, the politically very influential CEO of the corporation (Veronica Ferres), as Gary Oldman’s counterpart, launches a new “non-addictive” painkiller.
